LEGO Robotics Courses for EV3

(Age 10-14)


LEGO® MINDSTORMS® Education EV3 (https://education.lego.com/) is a hands-on, cross-curricular STEM solution that engages students by providing the resources to design, build and program their creations while helping them develop essential skills such as creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication.

These courses ignite students' natural curiosity and sharpen their scientific inquiry, engineering design, and data analysis skills. The class will be in Kanata and Barrhaven.


Class E Programs

Class E is one year session for EV3 beginners, it includes three parts

  1. E1: EV3 Robot Coding (Part 1)
  2. E2: EV3 Robot Coding (Part 2)
  3. E3: EV3 Robot Building

In the class, students will create EV3 robots and program to control robot behavior. They will
  • •Use different reasoning approaches to evaluate evidence and develop theories
  • •Create and work with data to solve problems and draw conclusions
  • •Learn to identify problems and use appropriate tools to find and communicate solutions
  • •Refine their use of science and engineering practices to solve problems, hone ideas, and evaluate solutions

R1: LEGO Robotics Research

Create robots and program to control robots behavior. Research in Robotics design and Physics concepts. For Age 10+.

Summer Programs

S5: A Summer Special Intensive training (10 lessons in 5 weeks), which is primer level for LEGO robots coding in Scratch. The students will use WEDO2.0 core set and EV3 core set to create the robot, and learn how to program their LEGO robots(WEDO and EV3) by using Scratch(https://scratch.mit.edu/). Students should bring their own laptop (Windows 10 version 1709+, macOS 10.13+, Bluetooth 4.0, Scratch Link) to the class.

Tuition:
One year session(30 lessons) is $1647 + hst. If you register before June 15, there will be 20% off (can not be combined with any other discount). S5 summer program early bird fee is $474 + hst (Before June 15, 2019), regular fee is $499 + hst. Tuition cannot be refunded. Ottawa Robotics Club has the right to explain these terms.



Pay by Cheques:
You can pay the tuition by cheques as well. Cheques should be made payable to “Ottawa Robotics Club”, with the education package, the time frame, name, phone and Email clearly printed on the memo section. Please contact us by Email if you want to pay by cheques. Thank you!
